Thanksgiving

Microdesk has given us a half day today. What a nice early start to Thanksgiving! I am not sure if I will be closing up shop at 1– still so many things to do! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I will be spending it with my mom, dad, my sister Lisa and her dog Beauregard Duke Bebop W. LeMoko (but we call him Bo for short). My dad is in charge of the turkey and for the last 5 years he’s been deep frying it! We start early and get out the peanut oil, gas, burner and caldron. Before we know it, neighbors gather holding their turkeys and we take turns deep frying. What’s nice about deep frying the turkey is that it’s quick. It only takes a couple minutes per pound. Plus, when it’s done, the turkey floats up so there is really no guesswork. In addition to the turkey we will make Stuffing (from my Aunt Vernie’s recipe), Pineapple Bread Pudding and Sweet Potato Casserole. I am hoping my mom will make her famous Pumpkin Pie.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I find that it’s so easy to take things for granted and it’s important to sit down and honestly give thanks. I am so thankful that I have a job that I love and that I work with colleagues and customers that are kind, friendly, facinating people. I am thankful I rolled over my 401K and kept it in cash prior to the stock market tanking. I am thankful Autodesk has included AutoCAD Architecture in the Revit Architecture Suite. I am thankful I have a great family and wonderful friends. Okay, there’s more but I won’t bore you with it.
🙂

I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thank you for visiting my little blog! Take care and be safe this holiday!
