LinkedIn for Executives

LinkedIn for Executives

I was asked to speak at Wharton’s Executive MBA program.  The topic was how to best utilize LinkedIn for branding and job search. We covered the importance of a strong, professional, robust LinkedIn profile.

One fellow asked me, “You are telling me that in order to be successful on LinkedIn I need to have a strong profile but when I look at some executive’s profiles, there is barely anything on them.”

My response, “Unlike you, those executives haven’t yet been educated on LinkedIn. Not everyone who is on LinkedIn understands how it works or what to do with it. In fact, they may have signed up and never logged back in.”

In addition to the LinkedIn profile, we did a series of hands-on exercises designed to teach these future MBA’s how to network more effectively and how to post on LinkedIn to forward their executive brand.

Full & Half Day LinkedIn Workshops

GSK brought me in to perform a series of LinkedIn workshops to help employees build a strong, optimized presence on LinkedIn for professional branding purposes.

Participants brought in their laptops and together, we worked through their LinkedIn profiles.  Presentation coupled with hands-on exercises, I provided group and individual coaching and facilitation.

Once the profiles were built, we focused in on LinkedIn strategy and attendees learned the importance of connecting and building a strong network. From there we jumped into how to network on LinkedIn and the importance of joining in on the conversations taking place on the LinkedIn feed.
